Mrs. Annie Jean Taylor Goddard, 80, of Vintage Inn Retirement Center, Williamston died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Martin General Hospital.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Martin Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dean Harrell officiating.
Mrs. Goddard was born in Martin County on Jan. 26, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Allie Hardy Taylor. On Nov. 26, 1950, she married Norman Goddard, who preceded her in death Dec. 24, 2005. She worked as a supervisor with Carolina Telephone until her retirement.
Survivors include brother, Jack Taylor and wife Sylvia of Williamston; nephew, Sammie Taylor and wife Pat of Williamston; nieces, Betty Jean Alexander and Janie Taylor and husband Jimmy, all of Williamston.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Asa Tom Taylor, Robert “Dock” Taylor and Les Taylor and sisters, Lou Allie Peele, Dale Proseus and Faye Modlin.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston and other times at the home of Jack and Sylvia Taylor, 2152 Garrett Road, Williamston.
Memorials may be made to Martin County Relay for Life or Williamston Rescue Squad.
