The community Easter sunrise service begins at 7 a.m. Sunday at Havens Gardens in Washington.
The Rev. Faye Rouse, a retired minister who once served as pastor of Chocowinity United Methodist Church, will deliver the sermon. Special music will be provided by a band and choral group that have members from several churches.
In case of inclement weather, the service will be conducted at First Baptist Church, at the corner of North Harvey and East Main streets in Washington.
After the service, breakfast will be served in the church’s Family Life Center.
The sunrise service, free and open to the public, is a project of the Interchurch Forum.
The Interchurch Forum was organized approximately 30 years ago. It seeks to bring together Beaufort County churches, clergy, laity and human resource agencies for the purpose of reporting services rendered, addressing mutual concerns and working together to meet spiritual and physical needs within the community.
