Mrs. Marcia Pratt Phelps, 71, of Creswell died Friday, April 9, 2010, at her residence.
Born February 1, 1939, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late George R. Pratt Sr. and Myrtle Titcomb Pratt and was preceded in death by her husband, Syd William Phelps, and brother, Harvey B. Pratt. Marcia was a homemaker and member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.
Her family includes her daughters, Stephanie Swain and husband, Jeff; Debra Spruill and husband, Charles, of Roper, N.C.; Elizabeth Taylor of Forestville, MD.; sons, Daniel Phelps and wife, Annette, Christopher Phelps Sr. and wife, Tammy, Cecil Phelps and wife, Ashley, all of Creswell, N.C.; brother, George R. Pratt and wife, Anita, of Ulabelle, Ga.; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church, Creswel,l with the Rev. Dalma Cribb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 12, 2010, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell, and other times at her daughter Stephanie Swain’s residence.
