Mr. Albert Bryce Credle, age 86, a resident of 104 Ridgewood Circle, Washington, NC died Thursday April 29, 2010 at Britthaven Nursing Home of Washington.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday May 1, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Pastor Scott Setzer. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Deacons of Second Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Credle was born in Hyde County on June 19, 1923 son of the late Albert Cartwright Credle and the late Sally Gibbs Credle. He graduated from Swan Quarter High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy. In his service in the Navy Mr. Credle was a Chief Petty Officer aboard the USS McDougal during World War II. Mr. Credle married the former Virginia Jennette on July 1, 1945 who preceded him in death on October 28, 2005. In Washington he was a barber at the West Main Barber Shop. Following his retirement he became an avid traveler by RV. Mr. Credle was a member of Second Baptist church of Washington.
Survivors include two daughters: Elaine Pearce and her husband David of Arcadia, FL and Corky House and her husband Larry of Washington; two grandchildren: Tammy Norman and her husband Kevin of Fredericksburg, VA and Bryce Herbert and his wife Shani of Benson, NC and two great grandchildren: Jake Norman and Cody Norman. Mr. Credle was preceded in death by two sisters: Thelma Fulford and Edith Best and a brother: Sidney Credle.
The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday April 30, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home of Mr. Credles daughter Corky located at 105 Iron Mine Way, the Iron Creek subdivision of Washington.
