Richard “Ricky” James Smithwick, age 51, a resident of Core Point, NC went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Core Point Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Graham Lane officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Ricky was a life long resident of Beaufort County and graduated from Aurora High School in 1976. At the time of his death, Ricky was a Mechanic in Central Maintenance Department at PCS. He is survived by his son, Richard James Smithwick, Jr. of Elizabeth City; his daughter, Sierra Gaskill of San Diego, CA; his brother, Sonny Smithwick and Rosanne of Core Point; one sister, Sherry Maloney and John of New Bern; and one granddaughter.
