Mr. Charles Henry “Chuck” Barnes

Mr. Charles Henry “Chuck” Barnes, age 70, of Joplin, Mo., passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at his home. He was born June 12, 1939 in Pineville, Mo., the son of Charles Oakley Barnes and Laura I. (McEwen) Barnes Nixon.
Chuck served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1957 until 1961. 
He was a heavy equipment technician at the Gregory Poole Equipment Company, and retired after 34 years.
His parents, and a brother, Teddy, preceded Chuck in death.
He is survived by: a son and his wife, Brian and Angela Eurit, Carl Junction, Mo., and Brian’s mother, Jeanette Eurit, Carthage, Mo.; three children, Charles “Mark” Barnes and wife Julie, Knightdale, N.C., Yvetta Washburn, Rutherfordton, N.C., and Kimberly Williams, Bear Grass, N.C., and their mother, Katherine Williams, Washington, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Larry and Verlene Barnes, a half sister, Ann (Nixon) Blair, and a sister in law, Joy (Delle) Barnes, all from the state of Texas; a former wife and special friend, Mary Barnes and her children, Dora Morgan, Strafford, Mo., James Griffith, Harrisonville, Mo., Tim Griffith, Stockton, Mo., and Brenda Ducker, Willard, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010 at Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, Mo.  Graveside services, with Military Honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Pineville Cemetery, Pineville, Mo. Online condolences may be made at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com
