Lela Daniels, born September 6, 1919, of Washington, N.C., departed this earth on Thursday, May 20, 2010. She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted friend, Lenzor Smith; six daughters, Overseer Charlotte Stokes (Harry), Linda Venable (Alfred), Pastor Evelyn Ross (Floyd), Susie Jackson (Jeremiah), Rev. Debra Daniels-Smith (Terrell), and Minister Brenda Wilson (Rufus).
Mrs. Daniels was preceded in death by her husband George Daniels and three sons, Alkina Daniels, Richard Daniels, and Sammy Daniels.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Smithwick Chapel Church of Christ, DOC, 5710 Fire Department Road, Williamston, N.C. Visitation was held at the Leon Randolph Chapel, 7 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010. The family will receive friends and relatives anytime at 1112 Thompson Lane, Washington, N.C.
