WILLIAMSTON — Peggy Ann Gurganus Coburn, 63, died Friday May 28, 2010 at her home. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Bowen officiating; burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.
Peggy was born in Martin County on October 15, 1946, daughter of the late John Theodore and Minnie Squires Gurganus. She was retired from Carolina Telephone where she worked as an operator for many years. Peggy was a member of Macedonia Christian Church.
On February 6, 1965 she married Jerry Griffin Coburn who preceded her in death on December 2, 2003.
She is survived by a daughter Paula Ann Coburn of the home, son Alfred Ray Coburn and wife Christine of Williamston, sister Rebecca Edmonds and Aubrey Stephens of Raleigh, grandchildren Trey Coburn and Dillon Coburn both of Toledo Ohio and Kayla Coburn and Madalyn Coburn both of Williamston.
The family received friends Saturday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence 1390 Johnson Drive.
