CHOCOWINITY – Southside High School held its annual Awards night. Several athletes were honored during the evening.
Treshon Blount and Kristen Ayers were honored as the Southside High School Male and Female Athletes of the Year at the spring athletic awards ceremony on May 13.
Sam Jarman and Caitlin Bogart received the Male and Female Coaches’ Awards.
Other student-athletes honored were as follows:
Cheerleading: Megan Gaskins – MVP; Sandy Wilson – Dynamic Base; Courtney Respess – Super Spotter; Sarah Linton – Flyer Award; Nicolshia Crawford – Unsung Hero; Danita Gibbs – Rookie of the Year
Golf: Zack Moore – MVP
JV Basketball: Rokeem Miller-MVP
Men’s Basketball: Willie Ruffin – MVP; Jordan Benston-Offensive Player of the Year; Brandon Jordan – Defensive Player of the Year; Jabrell Greene – Most Improved
Women’s Basketball: Katisha Hyman – MVP; Tamisha Cradle – Offensive Player of the Year; Valerie Ruffin – Defensive Player of the Year
JV Softball: Rebekah Langston – MVP
Athletic Trainers: Lonneisha Williams-2nd year
Softball: Savannah Mumford – MVP; Savannah Mumford – Best Offensive Player; Shakeria Lomax – Best Defensive Player; Kristen Ayers – Coaches’ Award
