Mrs. Emily Elizabeth Wynne Haley, age 71, a resident of 221 East Main Street, Washington, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Beaufort County Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, Washington, conducted by Rev. Susan Harrison. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
Mrs. Haley was born in Washington on September 1, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Frank Wynne and Ada Jones Wynne. Mrs. Haley was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School. She was a secretary for Leith Automotive in Greenville and at Perry Buick in Norfolk, VA. She was the owner and operator of Emily’s Gift Shop. Mrs. Haley was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Haley is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Deninne Sweatland of Washington; her son, John Thomas Haley III of Ft. Myers, FL; and her grandson, John Thomas Haley IV of Ft. Myers, FL. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Haley was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Colin Sweatland. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home.
