Mr. Harold Gene Little, age 68, a resident of 300 Black Road, Washington, NC died Wednesday June 9, 2010 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday June 12, 2010 at First Church of Christ, Washington, officiated by Steve Hill and Curtis White. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Harold Todd Little, Timothy Gene Little, Rodney Bowen, Jr., Dale Clark, Trey Bowen and Adrian Bowen. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Little, Logan Little and Leon Seth McNinch.
Mr. Harold was born in Webb, West Virginia on September 29, 1941 son of the late William E. Little, Jr. and the late Sarah Dove Davis Little. He was raised in Lawrence County, Kentucky where he attended Lawrence County High School. Mr. Harold served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. On March 12, 1962 he married the former Phyllis Carol Warner who survives. Locally Mr. Little was owner and operator of Little's Heating and Air and was a member of the Washington Optimist Club. He attended Beaver Dam Church of Christ and First Church of Christ of Washington.
Surviving along with his wife Phyllis of the home are three daughters: Sarah Dove Little Bowen and her husband Rodney of Bath, Robin Rene' Little Clark and her husband Dale of Washington and Jennifer Carol Little of Washington; two sons: Harold Todd Little and his wife Raquel of Washington and Timothy Gene Little and his wife Regina of Washington; eleven grandchildren: Rodney Thomas Trey Bowen, III, Adrian Michael Bowen, Hannah Dove Bowen, Ashten Rene' Clark Hobby, Alicia Dale Clark, Aaron Todd Little, Lynsey Raquel Little, Karley Grace Little, Warner Ann Little, Logan Gene Little and Caulley Dove Asby; a great grandchild: Jaya Dove Edwards; a step mother: Roxie Little of Louisa, KY; two sisters: Sandra Little Shannon of Dayton, OH and Anita Sue Little Hall of Louisa, KY; seven brothers: Gary Little of Columbus, OH, Lowell Thomas Little of Louisa, KY, William E. Billy Little, III of Louisa, KY, Randy Joe Little of Orient, OH, James Franklin Parsley of Ashland, KY, John Phillip Parsley of Ashland, KY and Willis Ray Little of Louisa, KY. Mr. Harold was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul Eddie Little and Ronnie Lee Little and a sister: Doris Ann Little Shannon.
The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday June 11, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home.
