Rosa Lee Baker Jones, 74, of 4485 Poplar Point Road, Williamston, died Friday at her home. She was born Feb. 24, 1936 in Edgecombe County to the late Offie Baker and Betty Newsome Baker. She was a homemaker and a member of the Community Christian Church. She was married to James E. “Bud” Jones March 7, 1952 and he died in October of 1996.
Surviving are three daughters, Deborah Swift and husband Benny of Williamston, Shelia Harrell and husband Rusty of Oak City, and Amy Jones of Greenville; grandchildren Brian Swift and wife Alison of Winterville, Patrick Swift and wife Jennifer of York, Pa., Russ Harrell and Sammy Harrell, both of Oak City.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Jones; brothers, Billy Baker, Peter Baker and Jesse Baker; sisters, Dorothy Baker, Betty Mae Scott, Annie Baker and Mary Taylor.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Community Christian Church by Chris Minton. Burial will be in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home, 4485 Poplar Point Road, Williamston.
