James Thomas “Buddy” Robinson

James Thomas “Buddy” Robinson, 83, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010. He was born July 19, 1926 in Nash County, NC. He was the son of the late Jimmy and Clara Robinson. Buddy was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Rachel Bissette Robinson; his sisters, Louise Robinson Burchette and Dorothy Robinson Bobbitt.
Buddy retired from Rocky Mount Mills after 41 years of service as a Payroll Master. He was a WWII Veteran in the Navy Special Services, dancing and entertaining the troops in the USO. He loved ballroom and tap dancing, flowers, gardening, the Pamlico River and the Tarheels.
He is survived by James Burton Robinson and wife Nell of Jacksonville, FL, Tara Robinson Larson and husband Jeffrey of Raleigh, and Hunter Bissette Robinson and wife Charlotte of Rocky Mount; his sister, Julia Robinson Tate; his grandchildren, Michael Robinson, Megan Robinson, Jarrod Robinson, Tracy Mariani, and Paul Richard Mariani; four great grand grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at Pineview Cemetery.
