Mr. Tommy Dawson Ferguson, age 66, a resident of 92 Main Street Ext., Edward died Monday June 21, 2010 at Beaufort County Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday June 24, 2010 at Edward Christian Church officiated by Pastor David Linton. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Ferguson was born on March 20, 1944, son of the late Harry Ferguson and Mildred Dawson Ferguson. On November 9, 2007, he married the former Helen Taylor who survives. Mr. Ferguson retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired supervisor with Perdue in Lewiston. Later, he owned and operated a florist in Rich Square. Mr. Ferguson was a member of Edward Christian Church. He loved to fish and enjoyed the game of golf.
Mr. Ferguson is survived by his loving wife, Helen, of the home, he is survived by three sons: Robert Ferguson and his fianceé, Tami of Dallas, TX; Michael Ferguson and his wife, Ann of Greenville and Sean Ferguson and his wife, Jo of New Bern; his brothers: Harry Ferguson II of Grimesland, Bobby Ferguson of Chicago, IL and Sam Ferguson of Stokes; his sisters: Maryanna Pearson of Hickory, Mae Coburn of Pactolus; his beloved grandson: Thomas James Ferguson, who was his pride and joy, and his beloved pet, Patches.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Ferguson, his sister, Joy Ferguson Sullivan, and beloved pet, Daisy.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday at Paul Funeral Home and other times at the home located at 92 Main Street Ext., Edward.
