Mrs. Lottie Clark Smith, age 87, went to be with her Lord, Monday, June 28, 2010, after a long, brave battle with Alzheimer's.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington, conducted by Rev. Lee Hendricks.
Mrs. Smith's nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Lottie was born to the late Berry O. and Nettie Fornes Clark on February 14, 1923. She attended and graduated from Chocowinity High School in 1941. On December 21, 1946, Lottie married Elwood (Ed) Smith, who preceded her in death January 9, 1990. She is a past member of the First Christian Church, the C.B.H. Lodge and the Senior Citizens Striders.
Lottie was employed at Samson's Shirt Factory and Hamilton Beach from 1956 to 1986.
She is survived by a brother, Herman Clark of Raleigh; two daughters, Barbara S. Elks of Washington, Elizabeth Smith of Hillsborough; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lottie was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth; her brothers, Alonza, Jim, Berry, Jr. and Thurman; her granddaughter, Ginger and her great-grandson, D. J.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington.
