Mrs. Deborah Brown

Mrs. Deborah Cox Brown, age 54, a resident of Newport News, VA and former resident of Washington, died Wednesday July 14, 2010 at the Medical College of Virginia, in Richmond, VA.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday July 17, 2010 at the First Church of Christ in Washington, officiated by Ray West and Steve Hill. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
William Reising, Michael Bilbro, Daniel Bergevin, Jeff Dickens, Glen Moore and Larry Moore will serve as pallbearers.
Deborah was born on October 17, 1955 in Norfolk, VA, daughter of Rev. Millard Cox and Maxine Clayborne Cox. On April 8, 1973, she married Alex Baxter Brown, Jr. who survives. They owned and operated Applied Aesthetics in Newport News, VA. Prior to relocating to Virginia 11 years ago, they operated Pamlico Crown and Bridge in Washington. Deborah was a member of Rotary, the Arts Council and served as director of the choir and of the Living Christmas Tree at the First Church of Christ. She served as cheerleading advisor for Washington High School during the late 1990's.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her daughter: Shannon Brown Reising and her husband, William “Will” Joseph Reising of Washington; her son: Alex Baxter Brown, III of Atlanta, GA; her granddaughter: Skyler Patience Reising, her grandson: Tristan Alexander Brown; her sister and brother-in-law: Shelia and James Walsh of Durham; her mother-in-law: Irene Brown and sister-in-law: Joyce Williams both of Rockingham.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington.
