Judith Storm Blake, age 69, a resident of 84 Beach Road South, Belhaven, NC died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Beaufort County Medical Center. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 6: p.m., officiated by Rev. Deacon Janet Sueiro Rodman. The family will receive friends prior to service at 4:30 p.m. until service hour.
Mrs. Blake was born on July 29, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Robert and Genevieve Storm. She married Walter Lee Blake on January 7, 1959, who preceded her in death on February 22, 2003.
Judith received her degree in criminal justice at Pitt County Community College. Law enforcement was a very important part of her life. She was the first female police officer for the East Carolina University Police Department and the Kinston Police Department.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Briggs and fiancé, Tommy Robertson of Kinston, NC and Crystal Hardt and husband, Keith of Washington, NC; one son, Tracy Blake and wife Kay of Grifton, NC; five grandchildren, Kristy Craft, Ronnie Cromer, Houston Blake, Rachel Cromer, and Gunnar Hardt; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Troy Anthony Blake and one brother, Kevin Patrick Storm.
