Mrs. Mae Brown Beach, 91, a resident of 826 E. Boulevard, Williamston, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Vintage Inn Retirement Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Biggs Chapel, Williamston, with Kurt Honican officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Beach was born April 6, 1919, in Martin County. She was the daughter of the late Ben Bowen and the late Betty Lassiter Beach. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ. She was married to Leon Earl Beach, who died March 1, 1988.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Beach and his wife, Betsy, of Atlantic Beach; a sister, Bernice B. Hardison of Jamesville; a granddaughter, Beth Anne B. Atkins and her husband, David, of Greenville and two great-grandchildren, Will and Lizzie Atkins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Toba Bowen, and two sisters, Jennie Harrison and Myrtle Grace Wynn.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston.
