Mrs. Rena Sawyer McNair, 82, of Plymouth died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
Born June 26, 1928 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Sawyer and Ruth Bateman Sawyer. Mrs. McNair was a retired teacher’s assistant with Washington County Schools and member of First Christian Church. She was secretary for McNair Oil Company for many years and worked as a sales associate with Wombles Drug Store.
Her family includes her son, Shelton W. McNair, Jr. and wife Amy of Plymouth, N.C.; daughter, June V. McNair of Greenville, N.C.; grandchildren, Caleb McNair and Justine McNair.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, Plymouth, with the Rev. V. Tom Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at First Christian Church, Plymouth, and other times at her residence in Darby Circle.
