Glenn A. Blancett, age 75, resident of Whichard’s Beach Community went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2010 at University Health Systems Hospice Center in Greenville, NC.
Glenn was born in Columbus Indiana on August 17th, 1934. He was the son of Clifford and Alice Blancett. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He also volunteered at the Blind Center and Eagles Wings in Washington, NC.
Survivors include his wife of thirty years Peggy Perry Blancett of Beaufort County. Children, Brent of New Albany, IN; Bruce and Katy Blancett of Goshen, KY, and Amy and Gregg Ward of Chocowinity, NC, and Ronnie and Selma Barr of Greenville, NC. Grandsons; Mason &Blake Blancett, Michael, Tyler &Hayden Ward, and Jay Mills. One brother Gordon and Darylene Blancett of Columbus, IN. His faithful companion, Turbo and dear friends John and Carolyn Ward of Greenville, NC.
Visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church on August 5th from 6-8 p.m. in the fellowship hall. A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana at a later date.
