Mr. Cledie F. Roberson of 31 Corey Road, Washington died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Pitt County Medical Center.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at St. John Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Elder Russell Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Roberson was born June 7, 1919 to the late Frank and Roberta Hodges Roberson in Beaufort County.
Cledie Roberson was affiliated with St. John Church of Christ at an early age. He was affectionately known as “Dick” and “Red” by his friends and “Poppie” by family.
Survivors include one son Allen Roberson (Sandra) of Washington, N.C. and one daughter Andrea (Jeannie) Carroll (Earl) of Durham, N.C., six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son Kelly Roberson, two brothers Arthur Roberson and Donald Roberson. Five sisters Rosa Boston, Clifford Corey, Frankie Peele, Icylean Roberson and Velma Dean.
The family will receive friends Friday August 6, 2010 from 3-6 p.m. at Leon Randolph Memorial Chapel, and other times at the home of Allen and Sandra Roberson of 31 Corey Road, Washington, N.C.
