Mr. Larry Lester Oliver, 62, a resident of 684 Sawmill Landing, Bath, NC died Sunday August 8, 2010 at his home.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Jarvis Harris Cemetery on Hwy 32 North of Washington conducted by Kent Gurganus. The following will serve as pallbearers: John Oliver, Jesse Respass, Butch Oliver, Willie Jefferson, Matt Respass and Justin Mixon. Honorary pallbearer will be Edward Oliver.
Mr. Oliver was born on September 6, 1947 son of the late Fernie Harding Oliver and Hazel Lee Watson Oliver, who survives. He was a 1966 graduate of Pantego High School. Mr. Oliver was retired from Weyerhaeuser. He was a member of Everett’s Cross Roads Church of Christ.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Oliver is survived by: a daughter; Allison Marie Oliver of Bath, NC, two brothers; Fernie Oliver, Jr. of Pinetown and Ronald Gene Oliver of Bayview, two sisters; Kathy Oliver Jefferson of Washington and Linda Sue Oliver Respass of Plymouth.
In addition to his father, Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by a brother; Gary Oliver.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home of Washington .
