Ozell Dixon Ward, age 78, a resident of 10744 US 17, Williamston, NC died August 29, 2010 at her home. A graveside service will be held at Ward Family Cemetery on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 2 p.m., officiated by Pastor Eddie Bowen. The family received friends at Hillside Funeral Service on Monday, August 30, 2010.
Mrs. Ward was born on October 15, 1931 in Beaufort County, daughter of the late Claude Thomas Dixon and Mamie Hill Dixon. She married Kader Wilson Ward on March 13, 1956, who survives. Mrs. Ward graduated from Chocowinity High School in 1950. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and talented craftsperson. Ozell was a member of Macedonia Christian Church in Williamston, NC.
Along with her husband, Kader Ward, she is survived by three sons, Steve White and wife, Rachel of Washington, NC, Brad Ward and wife, Carla of Williamston, NC and Keith Ward of Garner, NC; one daughter, Glinda Fox and husband, Wayne of Williamston, NC; one sister, Elma Maye; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
