Janice “Grouch” McClure Hassell, 51, of Columbia died Sunday, September 12, 2010 at her residence.
Born March 13, 1959 in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Troy Ralph McClure and Daphney Dean Long McClure. Janice was co-owner of L &J Construction and member of Sandy Acres Free Will Baptist Church.
Her family includes her husband, Clay “Lynn” Hassell of Columbia, N.C.; daughters, Stacy H. Holyfield of Creswell, N.C., Jessica H. Jarvis and husband Jody of Columbia, N.C.; sons, Tracy G. Hassell and wife Debbie, Jason S. Hassell and wife Shannon of Columbia, N.C.; sisters, Bonita M. Brickhouse, Lisa M. Moran and Wendy M. Phelps of Columbia, N.C.; brother, Roy E. McClure of Columbia, N.C. and nine grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell with Reverend Royce Reynolds and Reverend Joseph Wynns officiating. Burial will follow in the Hassell Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
