Mr. Michael Wayne Callis, age 57, a resident of 183 Shoreline Drive, Belhaven, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal, VA. Mr. Callis was born in Warren County, Virginia on November 24, 1952. He was the son of Kathleen Jennings Callis and the late Richard Hall Callis, Sr. Mr. Callis served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was an electrical engineer and entrepreneur. Mr. Callis was an avid fisherman. He was a donor to the N.C. Estuarium in Washington and a member of the Wildlife and Reserve Association of N.C. Mr. Callis was a loving father, grandfather, teacher and a Christian.
Mr. Callis is survived by his three sons, Charles Callis, Christopher Callis and Jonathan Callis; three granddaughters, Allison Callis, Madison Callis and Savannah Callis; his mother, Kathleen Callis, his sister, Kathy Hale and Bryan Burke, a cousin but in reality a son.
In addition to his father, Mr. Callis was preceded in death by brother, Richard Hall Callis, Jr.
