Mrs. Julia Daniels Chesson, 94, of the Mackeys Community, Roper died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Plumblee Nursing Center in Plymouth.
Born October 24, 1915 in Martin County, she was the daughter of the late William Barcell Daniels and Emmaline Andrews Daniels and was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Rogers Chesson, Jr.; son, Herbert Rogers Chesson, III; sisters, Eliza D. Upchurch, Mary Lucy Daniels; brothers, Dick, Joe, Benny, Shelton and John Daniels. Mrs. Chesson was a homemaker and the oldest living member of Mackeys United Methodist Church.
Her family includes her daughter, Emelyne Chesson Wellons and husband, Brockman, of Gastonia, N.C.; brother, Herman Daniels of Williamston, N.C.; grandchildren, Brockman Chesson Wellons of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Howard Mackey Wellons of Gastonia, N.C.
Funeral service will be held Monday, October 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Mackeys United Methodist Church with Reverend Frank Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the Davenport Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends following the services in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
