Len Willson, 53, of Bath, NC died Wednesday morning October 6, 2010.
A memorial service will be held 2 PM on Sunday at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Raleigh at Morgan &Salisbury Streets.
A native of Raleigh, Len is survived by his parents L. Alfred Willson, Jr. and Marie Thompson Willson. He was a graduate of Sanderson High School and then attended Louisburg College, NC State and UNC.
Len is also survived by his brother, John Carter Willson and three sisters Kathryn Marie Willson, Mary Alice Willson, and Martha Willson Connor, brother-in-law David Marion Connor, III and two nieces Alice Carter Connor and Sarah Helen Connor.
At 22, he was left paralyzed as a passenger in an automobile accident in 1979.
Len had lived in historic Bath, NC since August 1995 in his home on Bath Creek.
Prior to his days in Bath he had held residences in the western NC towns of Asheville and Waynesville.
He was an avid hand cyclist, dog lover, teacher, environmentalist, pie baker, and music aficionado. Those that knew Len were made better people by having known him.
