Mrs. Dora Waters Ellis, 91, of Plymouth died Friday, Oct. 29, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth.
Born Oct. 12, 1919 in Pitt County, she was the daughter of the late William A. Waters and Mary Latham Waters and was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty W. Davey; sisters, Margaret Waters, Florence Gurkin, Louise Waters, Polly Ann Holland; brothers, Seaton Waters, Ernest Waters, Louis Waters, Fred Waters and James Waters. Dora was a homemaker and member of Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church.
Her family includes her husband, Raymond Junior Ellis; daughter, Louise Ellis Mizelle; son, Raymond Earl Ellis all of Plymouth; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Reverend Robert Travis officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 1, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at her son Earl's residence. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
