Mrs. Elizabeth Holland Parker, 85, died Friday, Oct. 29 at her home. The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Gates County on Oct. 27, 1925 at her home in Sunbury, N.C. She was the daughter of the late W.K. Parker and Ethel Holland Parker. After graduating from Elon College in 1946, she came to Williamston to become the Extension Home Demonstration Agent. In later years, she worked at Williamston Peanut Company.
On June 1, 1951, she married Thad Harrison Jr. They lived in a small house on Beech Street in Williamston until they built a house on The Woolard Farm, where she lived until her death.
She was a member of the First Christian Church where she served as a Deaconess. Brothers Kreglow Parker, Earl Parker and Fred Parker preceeded her in death.
Mrs. Harrison is survived by her daughter Martha Harrison Vick and husband Robert of Wilson; son Joseph W. Harrison and wife Minnie of Williamston; sister Jean Parker Rusak of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren Grif Harrison and Rebecca Harrison of Williamston and Bobby Vick and wife Meredith of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends today from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 7807 U.S. Hwy 17.
