Mrs. Josie Corey Daniels, age 97, a resident of Washington, died Thursday, November 4, 2010.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be conducted by Dr. Jimmy Moore. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Mrs. Daniels was born in Beaufort County on January 8, 1913 to the late James and Mary Harris Corey. On January 30, 1933 she married William “Bill” Daniels who preceded her in death on September 7, 1996. She was a 1930 graduate of Washington High School and was a lifelong resident of Washington. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington where she taught the children’s Sunday School class and also was a member of the church choir. Mrs. Daniels was a bookkeeper for more than 40 years and was employed with Charles Store of Washington.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
