190 runners from across the community took to the streets of the Smithton community in Belhaven for the first annual Darleen’s Flamingo 5K Run. The event was organized in memory of Darleen Smith, who lost her life to breast cancer April 2. Smith’s friends and family wanted to raise awareness of breast cancer while raising money for the American Cancer Society. (WDN Photo/Jurgen Boerema)
