Mrs. Selma Juanita Bright, age 81, a resident of 141 Moore Lane, Chocowinity, NC died on Sunday, November 14, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
A graveside funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by the Rev. Doug Batchelor.
Mrs. Bright was born in Beaufort County on August 22, 1929 to the late Samuel Lyle Carrow and Sudie Clark Carrow. She attended schools in Beaufort County. In 1947, she married Sylvester Bright, who preceded her in death on October 18, 1981. Mrs. Bright had worked most of her life as a waitress at Ayer’s Log Cabin, Knotty Pine Inn and Korner Cupboard. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the DAV Auxiliary. Mrs. Bright was a member of Love Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bright is survived by three sisters: Etta B. Tetterton of Washington, NC, Hazel C. Mills of Vanceboro, NC and Dorothy Lee Wheeler of Nashville, TN, a brother: Willie Gray Moore of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bright is preceded in death by two brothers: Samuel Etheldon Carrow and William Albert Moore and a sister: Edna Inez Pipkin.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
