Mr. William Greene

Mr. William Greene, after several months of declining health, died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010.
William was born Feb. 14, 1949 to the late Seth and Lessie Credle Greene. Mr. Seth preceded him in death. Mrs. Lessie later married George Farrow, who raised William as his own.
William was a native of Swan Quarter. He was a veteran in the United States Army, and served in the Vietnam War.
He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Lessie Greene of Long Island, NY; one son, William Greene Jr. of the Bronx, NY; three sisters, Hattie Garvin of Brooklyn, NY, Valerie Credle (Glen) of Scranton, NC, and Diane Blount (James) of Belhaven, NC; two brothers, Arthur Greene (Gwen) of Brooklyn, NY, and James Farrow of New Jersey; three aunts, Lydia Freeman, Alice Mae Moore, and Mary Butcher, all of Belhaven; six uncles, Phillip Greene Jr. of Swan Quarter, NC, Willie E. Green (Mary) of Alexandria, Va., Ivy Greene (Jackie) of Fayeteville, NC, Oliver Credle Jr. (Sue) of Winterville, NC, Tom Credle (Pep) and Raymond Credle of Belhaven, NC; one great-aunt, Lucy Harris of Washington, NC; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Ortiz Funeral Home, 2121 W. Chester Ave., Bronx, NY.
Local arrangements are being handled by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
