Garrett Wright Cantwell, 87, a resident of Cypress Glenn in Greenville, N.C., and formerly of Wilmington, Del., passed away on Dec. 7, 2010. Garrett was born to the late Garrett Reed Cantwell and Reita W. Cantwell in Wilmington, Del., in 1923. He graduated from McDonogh School in 1941 and received a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University in 1945.
Mr. Cantwell made his career with E. I. DuPont in several capacities and locations; the last being Waynesboro, Va. Following retirement in 1984, he returned to Wilmington, Del., until his 2005 move to N.C. He was an avid photographer, traveler and enjoyed electronics and computers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy E. Cantwell. He is survived by two sons, Garrett William and Charles Wright, both of Washington, N.C.
