Mr. Thomas “Doodlebug” Moore

Mr. Thomas “Doodlebug” Eason Moore, age 61, a resident of 2010 John Small Ave., Washington, died Thursday morning, Dec. 23, 2010, at UHS Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Washington officiated by Rev. Danny Allen. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Sammy Marshall, David Woolard, Todd Moore, Sam Brinn, Jeff Broadway and Charlie Wallace will serve as pallbearers. Gary Boyd and Fred Wilson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Moore was born Jan. 5, 1949, son of the late Jim Moore and Annie Ree Hodges Moore. On Aug. 17, 1972, he married the former Nelda Virginia Jordan, who survives. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was employed with PCS as a welder. Mr. Moore was an avid golfer, fisherman and loved fast cars. He coached Midget League Football for 16 years and Little Tarheel Baseball for 10 years.
In addition to his wife, Nelda, of the home, he is survived by his son: Chaise McKenzie Moore of Greenville; his brothers: George Moore of Jamesville and Marvin Moore of Winterville; his sisters: Tootsie Broadway of Wilmar and Margie Woolard of Washington. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Billy Moore, Grover Moore and J.R. Moore and his sister: Mildred Lancaster.
The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home located at 2010 John Small Ave., Washington.
