Rosemary Laurel Kubicek, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Camden Place in Greensboro after a courageous struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born in Berkshire County, Mass., Rosemary was the daughter of Russell J. Belcher and Yvonne Roy Belcher Montana, both of whom preceded her. She is survived by her husband, Atty. Robert E. Kubicek of Greensboro; a sister, Margaret A. Landon of Longmeadow, Mass., and nephews and nieces, the children of Mrs. Landon and a deceased sister, Delores I. Sullivan of Oriental, N.C.
She and her husband were married on Feb. 18, 1950, at Assumption Church in Chicopee, Mass. Earlier this year, they celebrated their 60th anniversary.
After marriage, they resided in East Longmeadow, Mass. Her husband was senior partner in the law firm of Appleton, Kubicek, Rice and Mitchell in Springfield, Mass., until his retirement in 1988. Thereafter they resided in Washington, N.C., until the onset of her illness.
Mrs. Kubicek was a graduate of Holy Name High School in Chicopee, and attended Elms College and Northeastern University.
A memorial service will be held at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath with the Rev. Eric Zubler officiating at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011. Her cremains will be interred in a columbarium on church grounds.
