Mrs. Sue Moye Williams Williams, age 84, a resident of 108 Dogwood Drive, Washington, N.C., died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at her home following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mrs. Williams was born in Washington on April 5, 1926, daughter of the late Wade Samuel Williams and the late Mary Lillian Peele Williams.
She was a graduate of Washington High School class of 1944 and continued her education at Campbell College. Following her education, she moved to Cape Hatteras where she taught elementary school. It was there where she met and married Victor Eugene Williams, Sr. on Dec. 26, 1951. He preceded Mrs. Williams in death by just three days. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Washington.
Survivors include a daughter: Mary Susan Mills and her husband Sam of Columbia, S.C.; her granddaughter: Helen Elizabeth Mills of Columbia, S.C.; a beloved niece: Geraldine Bennett McKinley of Washington and nephews: Beau and Rain Bennett. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by a son: Victor E. Williams, Jr. and a sister: Nancy Williams Boyd.
Mrs. Williams’ family would like to thank Community Home Health Care and Hospice and a special thank you to Delores Coffey for their care and concern for both Mrs. Sue and Mr. Victor.
The family had a joint visitation for both Mr. Victor and Mrs. Sue on Saturday Jan. 15, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home of Washington. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Campbell University, Advancement Office, P.O. Box 116, Buies Creek, NC 27506.
