SILVER ALERT ISSUED FOR MISSING COUPLE

A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing couple last seen in Chocowinity.

Late Wednesday night, the N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued the alert for Philip Charles Leblanc, 81, and his wife, Betty Marie Leblanc, 87, both believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

The missing man is white, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 207 pounds, according to the alert. He has short, gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans, a T-shirt and a dark-blue wind breaker.

The missing woman is white, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 87 pounds. She has shoulder-length black and gray hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a light-blue windbreaker, long-sleeve shirt, dark-blue or black pants and black shoes.

Authorities believe the couple were headed southbound on Interstate 95 in a maroon 2004 Kia Sedona with Florida license plate E4935L. They are believed to be headed to Florida.
