Mr. and Mrs. Neil Wright Koonce of Greensboro, N.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Carlton Younger, Jr. of Kinston, N.C., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Virginia Evans Younger, to Douglas William Meier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard William Meier of Port Orange, Florida.

Miss Younger is the granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas Carlton Younger of Winston-Salem, N.C. and the late Mr. Younger, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Melton Earl Evans of Washington, N.C. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Texas School of Law in Austin. She is currently an attorney with McGuireWoods in Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. Meier is the grandson of Mrs. Ralph James Steward of Port Orange, Florida and the late Mr. Steward, and Mr. and Mrs. Lowell William Meier of Wentzville, Missouri, and the late Mary Louise Meier. He obtained both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas in Austin, and is currently an attorney with Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett and Dunner in Washington, D.C.

A July wedding is planned in Greensboro, N.C.
