Mrs. Gloria H. Franz, 84, a resident of Island Drive, Chocowinity, N.C., died Monday, March 14, 2011, at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law. A private memorial service will be held in the summer in New York, where she will be interred beside her husband in the Rose Garden.

Ms. Franz was born on Aug. 19, 1926, in Bronx, N.Y., daughter of the late John and Helen Hamber. She attended Richmond Hill High School in Queens, New York. She retired as an Office Manager for World Jet Airlines. Ms. Franz was also a member of the Lutheran Church. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Conrad V. Franz in 1987.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Franz of Washington, N.C. and Laura Cimino and husband Sam of Chocowinity, N.C.; one son, Clifford Franz and wife Lori of Daytona, Fla.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to J & J’s Homeless Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 1495, Washington, NC 27889. The family will receive friends at the home of Laura and Sam Cimino on Island Drive, Chocowinity, N.C.
