Inez C. Spencer (1915 — 2011)

Mary Inez Cuthrell Farrow Spencer, 95, long time resident of Engelhard and more recently a resident at Cross Creek Health Care Center, Swan Quarter, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Cross Creek.

Born in Gull Rock, Hyde County, she was the daughter of the late Tooley and Thania Pugh Cuthrell. She was first married to William Harvey Farrow and following his death, she married Miles Spencer who also preceded her in death. She graduated from the former Lake Landing School, was a member of Watson’s Chapel United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star. She was a clerk at the Engelhard Post Office for many years. She timely lived a Christian woman’s life.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Watson’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Pastor Jerald Craddock will officiate. Burial will follow in St. George’s Episcopal Church Cemetery at Lake Landing.

Surviving are a son, William B. Farrow of Engelhard; a granddaughter, Blair Farrow Beard and husband, Jeffrey; three great-grandchildren, Aaron, Ethan and Joby Beard.

Preceding her in death were brothers, Henry Cuthrell and Everett Cuthrell; sisters, Maggie C. Farrow, Edith C. Davis and Luella C. Sadler.

The family suggests that memorials be directed to Watson’s Chapel United Methodist Church or Order of Eastern Star.
