Betty Beddard

Mrs. Betty Beddard, age 76, a former resident of 517 Charlotte Street died Monday, March 28, 2011, at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington. A family visitation will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Washington 15th Street Church of God from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and other times at the home of her daughter, Ann Clark at 517 Charlotte Street in Washington. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Betty was born in Buncombe County June 19, 1934, the daughter of the late Robert Augustus Moore and Icelene Latham Moore. She had worked with Washington Garment and Edinburg Furniture Company. Betty went to work at Blackbeard’s Restaurant in Washington until her retirement after 15 years of service.

Mrs. Beddard is survived by three daughters, Mary Keel Clayton and husband Arthur of Belhaven; Gail Revels Bell and husband Wesley of Washington; Ann Clark of Washington; two sons Cricket Keel of Williamston and Ronnie Keel of Washington; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her former husbands, Jimmy Darrell Keel, Elie Slade Revels, Jr. and Ivey Tyrone Beddard, a son Donnie Gene Revels, a daughter Hazel Jean Revels and two grandsons Christian Johnson and Anthony Darrell Keel.
