Mr. Elton W. Cutler, Sr.

Mr. Elton Winford Cutler, Sr., age 76, a resident of 22766 Highway 32 North Plymouth, died Friday, April 29, 2011 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2011 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home and Crematory, Washington, conducted by Thelbert Leggett. Burial will follow in Long Acre Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Brice Williams, Ralph Bowen, Donald Stotesberry, Earl Baynor, Jr., Bruce Bowen and Jay Bell.
Mr. Cutler was born in Beaufort County on February 2, 1935. He was the son of the late David R. Cutler and Daisy Bowen Cutler. Mr. Cutler attended Pantego High School. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Cutler was a member of the Long Acre Chapel Christian Church where served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Long Acre Fire Department. Mr. Cutler liked to fish and work on the farm.
On February 4, 1953, Mr. Cutler married the former Nellie Mae Cutler, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are his son, Elton Cutler, Jr. and wife, Janet of Plymouth; his daughters, Diane C. Asby and husband, Stan of Greenville, Cathy Roberson and husband, Teddy of Newport News, Va.; his sister, Peggy Hassell and husband, Charles of Washington; his brother, Floyd Travis Cutler and wife, Sina of Washington; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cutler was preceded in death by two brothers, Murl G. Cutler and Donald Robert Cutler.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and other times at the home, 22766 N.C. Hwy 32 North, Plymouth.
