Mr. Elmer Craig Wilson

Mr. Elmer Craig Wilson, 88, a resident of Post Road, Bath passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at University Health Systems Inpatient Hospice.
The family will receive friends tonight, Friday, May 6, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Service and other times at the home of his daughter, Leslie Cahoon and her husband Lindsey, 991 Elliott Road, Bath, N.C.
A funeral service and celebration of his life will be Saturday, May 7, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, officiated by Chris Hux. Charles Daw, Bryant Hardison, Mike Miller, Timmy Pinkham, Wiley Roper and Paul Woolard will serve as pallbearers. Military honors and a reception for family and friends will follow the service at Hillside Funeral Service. Burial will be announced at a later date.
Mr. Wilson was born Sept. 12, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Elmer James and Jesse Craig Wilson. Elmer was married to the former Mary Farquharson who preceded him in death. He honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII. Elmer retired from Maritrans Towing in Philadelphia, Penn., in 1987 and had over 40 years of service as a marine engineer. Elmer was a member of Athens Chapel Church of Christ. He was also a member of Monmouth Masonic Lodge in New Jersey.
Mr. Wilson is survived his daughter Leslie Cahoon and husband Lindsey and their son, Cody Wilson Cahoon all of Bath. He is also survived by his loving cousins, Kenneth Craig of New Jersey, Lee Meyer of Virginia and Sandy Craig of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Agnes Jones of Arizona.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601, or a charity of one’s choice.
