On April 4, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office’s Drug Unit executed a search warrant at 314 Clay Bottom School Road, Chocowinity. Investigators found an indoor marijuana-growing setup that contained electrical grow lights, fans and approximately 20 marijuana plants.

Investigators arrested John Paul Schaeffer, 24, and Nicole Schaeffer, 24, of 314 Clay Bottom School Road. Each was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to store and sell a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Each was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
