Treva Neal Pittman Walters, 78, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at her residence. Born in St. Pauls, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Prather Braddy and Quentaline Prevatte Pittman. She retired in 1991 from GTE with over 20 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Walters was an avid gardener and a huge Braves fan. Family was always very important to her. She was a very loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all her family and will be missed greatly.
Survivors include her husband Egbert Worth Walters of Myrtle Beach; daughters, Deborah Barnes and her husband Larry of Washington, N.C., Linda W. Todd and her husband Odell of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Sherri W. Thompkins and her husband Carlton of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a son, Michael E. Walters and his wife Elizabeth of Summerville, S.C.; grandchildren, Forrest Cox, Grant Walters, Angela Johnson and her husband Gary, Benjamin Todd, April Thompkins and Jacob Thompkins; great-grandchildren, Alara Johnson and Gavin Johnson; a sister, Betty P. Lunsford and her husband Kent of The Villages, Fla.; a brother, Carey Pittman and his wife Wanda of Fairmont, N.C.; a niece and a nephew.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. at Floyd Cemetery in Fairmont, N.C.
Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the funeral home.
