Cassie Virginia Asby, 93, went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2011, in Kathleen, Georgia.
She was born Nov. 7, 1917, in South Creek, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Asby; and two granddaughters, Debbie Asby and Teresa Hopkins.
She is survived by one son, Arthur Asby and wife, Marie, of Aurora; two daughters, Vesta Shoup and husband, Melvin, of Kathleen, Ga., and Roberta Asby Hopkins of Aurora, N.C.; and four generations of grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 29, at Friendship Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Philip M. Lewis and Rev. Kenneth Dixon officiating. Interment will follow immediately in White Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Friendship Pentecostal Holiness Church and at other times at the home of Roberta Hopkins, 142 Whitley Rd., Aurora.
