Mr. Durwood Scott Weston, Sr., age 70, a resident of 294 Weston Dr., Blounts Creek, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at his home.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ and will be conducted by Joe O’Neal and Howard Waters. Burial will follow in the Weston Family Cemetery. Gene Smith, Anthony Sireci, Mack Wallace, Chris Sireci, Rod Weston and Michael Weston will serve as pallbearers. Zach Sireci and Kevin Smith will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Durwood was born on Dec. 8, 1940, in Beaufort County to the late Johnie Weston and Vera Toler Weston who survives. On May 14, 1965, he married Patricia Buck who survives. He was a 1958 graduate of Aurora High School. He served in the United States Air Force. He attended Beaufort County Community College and graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in business decision sciences. He retired from Beaufort County Community College after many years of service as the System Administrator/Instructor/Technician, A+ certification in the business division. He was a member of the Orr Lodge #104 and a faithful lifelong member of Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ.

Survivors include his mother Vera Toler Weston; his wife Patricia of the home; one son, Durwood “Scott” Weston, Jr.  and wife Judy of Blounts Creek; three daughters, Jennifer W. Smith and husband Gene of Blounts Creek, Angela W. Sireci and husband Anthony of Blounts Creek, Holly W. Wallace and husband Mack of Washington; one brother, Phil Weston, Sr. and wife Judy of Blounts Creek; six grandchildren, Chris Sireci, Kara Sireci, Zach Sireci, Kevin Smith, Lilly Wallace and Emely Wallace. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Weston Tyre.

The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour at Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ, 1998 Herring Run Road, Blounts Creek, NC 27814 and other times at the home.
