In response to some of the discontent expressed by some county residents who don’t feel it fair that city residents get a reduction in their utility rates: I would like to make a complaint about living in the city and paying city and county taxes at the same rate. I don’t know that this has ever been explained. Why should I pay the same rate for city and county when I live in the city? Can the WDN please explain this?
Editor’s note: Counties and municipalities are allowed by state law to impose a property tax on their property owners. People with property in a municipality pay property taxes to the county and municipality because the municipality is part of the county. People with property and who don’t live in a city, town or village only pay property taxes to the county.
I think we should do away with early childhood education as well. Most of the ones who are benefiting from these programs are not even taxpaying citizens.
