Erick L. Chapman, 40, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at his home.

Born May 16, 1971, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Paul Chapman of Washington, N.C., and the late Shelia Richardson of New Bern, N.C.

Erick is survived by his wife Ida Tripp Chapman formerly of New Bern, N.C.; sisters Lakeisha Chapman, Elvera Chapman and a brother, Paul Chapman Jr., all of Newport News, Va.; grandparents Finner A.

Chapman Sr. of Washington, N.C., Mittie R. Bell of New Bern, N.C.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
